In 1951, some leading Memon personalities including, Mr. Muhammad Ali Rangoonwala, Mr. SulemanBhura, Mr. UmerFazil Farooq, Mr. Haji Abdul ShakoorTumbi, Mr. Abdul Aziz Sagar, Mr. Muhammad SiddiqKukaswadia, Mr. Haji Abdul latifDhedhi and others with solidarity, welfare and development of the community as a whole in mind got together and considered the possibilities of uniting the entire community on one single platform by forming a central and federal parent body of the Memon Jamats to represent them all at national level and raise their voice in government.
The infrastructure is the one of the essentials to build a quality institution. The building of Memon Federation House consisting on 5,000 sqfts, bearing ground plus 2 floors and basement with fully air-conditioned environment as well as roof top for open air events. The facility have fully equipped class rooms, 3 spacious computer labs comprising 135 most modern computers, multimedia facility and with fastest internet excess. We have an excellent auditorium having almost 300 people siting capacity with multimedia and internet facilities.
Since inception of APMF IT Committee, started efforts to promote I.T. education in Pakistani youth in particular as well as in society in general. In this regards, several I.T. courses have introduced like CMAD- Certified Mobile Application Developer (one year program, 6th batch is in progress), IDAM- Interactive Design and Multimedia (10 months program, 2nd batch is in launching phase), SDND – Sleek Dot Net Developer (one year program, 2nd batch is in launching phase) and BIPK – Brain Improvement Program for Kids (1.5 years program for kinds under 14 years age). These courses where offered on almost no cost basis which has widely accepted in the all segments of society by and large. In collaboration with local software industry, students have offered internships and after completion they may hired by them. From these courses, almost 2,500 students have passed out and serving the Pakistani nation.
In recognition of our efforts, Microsoft Corporation USA has made a grant of PKR 5.5 million in shape of branded soft wares for our labs and still we are in process of the 2nd phase the grant of PKR 9 million which will be allotted by end June 2020.
Before designing any course, we usually analyze the prevailing job market firstand after identifying the needs our expert faculty offers any course. In this regard, we had started GTEC – Global Trading Executive Certificate (6-month program, 2nd batch is in launching phase). The program’s main focus was to educate the participants with Import & Export procedures, WEBOK software operations as well as knowledge of Pakistan Custom Tariffs (PCT) codes to provide skilled work force to the relevant industries and reduce the joblessness in Pakistan. The professional faculty headed by retired custom collectors was hired for this program. 45 qualifiers were passed out and these skillful workers were hired on good stipends by the industry.
